Inmates to be allowed specialist devices in six-month trial
Inmates at the Isle of Man Prison could soon be allowed the use of e-cigarettes if reforms to custody laws are backed by Tynwald.
The decision's been made after more than 400 cell power outages have been caused by prisoners attempting to light hand-made cigarettes from substances such as banana peel, tea bags and hair.
A six-month trial will now take place at Jurby to assess what effect the introduction of e-cigarettes has if changes to legislation are given the green light.
