New bishop learning to speak Manx
The Archbishop of York says the new Bishop of Sodor and Mann will serve the Island 'very well' - and play a full part in Manx life.
Dr John Sentamu formally consecrated the Venerable Peter Eagles as bishop, at a majestic ceremony in York Minster yesterday.
The new Lord Bishop has a number of formalities to conduct before he takes up the role here, including paying homage to the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
He's expected to be enthroned in Peel cathedral in the autumn.
Speaking after the service in York, Archbishop Sentamu praised Peter Eagles as 'a man of many talents', who would fit in well:
Three-month wait for state pension forecast statements
OFT to investigate possible regulation of funeral directors
"One of the Island's foremost champions of Manx heritage" to receive Tynwald Honour
No timeline yet for reinstatement of rehab service to north
Venezuela Fury & Noah Price wedding "a true showcase of the breadth and quality of Manx services"
