New link road opens today
Shipping passengers travelling on and off the Island are due a boost when a major English highways project opens today (Monday).
The £125 million Bay Gateway road links Heysham port directly to the M6 motorway, replacing the M6 Junction 34 slip roads which have become outdated.
Passenger rights group TravelWatch has welcomed the development, and hopes it will make travel more attractive for both local and UK customers.
