MHK calls on chief minister to take more accountability for healthcare body
An Onchan MHK has described Manx Care as ‘completely broken’.
Julie Edge is calling for a change in how the arm’s length healthcare body is structured.
It follows confirmation that a number of services are being cut in order to reduce overspending; this includes sending patients to the UK for non-urgent hospital treatment.

But she says it’s left the public with no trust in the health body or the Council of Ministers.
Ms Edge says she believes there has been a ‘complete breakdown’ in the relationship between Manx Care management and the workforce:
