Consultation this summer
The way teachers deal with pupils' discipline and behaviour, both inside and outside school, is one of the elements of a new education bill being drawn up.
A draft version is set to go out to public consultation this summer, with the bill then due to be considered by Tynwald next year.
There have been instances of altercations between teachers and pupils outside school hours, and teachers currently have no clear pathway of how to deal with such incidents.
Education and Children Minister Graham Cregeen says the new bill will look to deal with that:

Police dealing with 'serious incident' in Ramsey
Consultation open on plans to formally recognise the heritage of Douglas Head
Drop-in session to support Isle of Man charities
Fundraiser to keep St John Ambulance emergency fleet on the road
Ayre and Michael MHKs request meeting with commissioners over rates
