Consultation this summer
The way teachers deal with pupils' discipline and behaviour, both inside and outside school, is one of the elements of a new education bill being drawn up.
A draft version is set to go out to public consultation this summer, with the bill then due to be considered by Tynwald next year.
There have been instances of altercations between teachers and pupils outside school hours, and teachers currently have no clear pathway of how to deal with such incidents.
