'Gradual change' says minister
The Education Department is looking for consistency across Island schools, as it reviews its policy on suspension.
Previously, the interpretation of suspending students has been different for each headteacher, however Minister Graham Cregeen is hoping to standardise the procedure Island-wide.
MHK Daphne Caine has been pressing Mr Cregeen over what help is available for those youngsters who find themselves taken out of mainstream lessons.
He says this will be a gradual change.
