Reforms came in following years of campaigning
A century of elected Legislative Council members was marked at the start of today's sitting of the upper house.
Four men were chosen by the House of Keys one hundred years ago yesterday, following years of campaigning for reform both inside and outside Tynwald.
Before the change, the council was made up of representatives of the judiciary and the church, a set-up which had changed little since the Middle Ages.
