Highest ever number of candidates expected to be announced
People hoping to gain a seat in the House of Keys next month only have a few more hours left to formally register as a candidate.
Nominations for next month's General Election close today (26 August) at 1pm.
All candidates must then meet with their returning officer where any objections to the nomination can be made.
Anyone who's declared an intention to stand can still withdraw from the election at any time before 2pm but not after.
So far more candidates have declared their intention to stand in this election than ever before with around 80 expected to be standing.
The highest number before that was in 1986 when there were 74 candidates.
The General Election is taking place on Thursday, 24 September.
