78% of power generated at Pulrose
The amount of electricity used on the Island fell to its lowest for at least a decade last year, new figures show.
Data from the Manx Utilities Authority is included in a new report from the Cabinet Office entitled The Isle of Man in Numbers.
It shows in 2015, just 365.9 Gigawatt hours were sold to residential, commercial and industrial users – down from a peak of 392 GWH in 2008.
The report says in December 2015, 78 per cent of our electricity was generated at Pulrose Power Station, 15 per cent was imported and just 7 per cent came from renewable sources.
