
A public meeting about a possible rival to the Steam Packet attracted around 80 people last night (Fri)
Those who went heard Captain Kurt Buchholz give a presentation on his plans for the Ellan Vannin Line.
He intends to have a freight service up and running by October 1 and wants to add passenger sailings by TT next year.
The meeting drew members of the public, politicians, union representatives, people from rival shipping companies and those who use the existing freight services.
They included Geoff Briers who is a director of haulage firm M&G Transport:
