Persons evacuated from building
Emergency services were called out to a multi-floor structure fire in the area of Castletown Square last night, with reports of people trapped inside.
Upon arrival, fire crews made sure the final occupant was out of the building before they were handed over to the ambulance service for medical attention.
Crews wearing Breathing Apparatus then entered the building to extinguish the fire using a high pressure hose reel.
Four fire appliances, Aerial Ladder, Duty Officer, Brigade Officer and decontamination support team from Castletown, Rushen and Douglas stations attended the scene and remained for around 2 hours to bring the incident to a close.
