Home Affairs will also take responsibility for 'Justice'
The effectiveness and efficiency of the Island's emergency services will be scrutinised by an independent body from the UK.
The chief minister made the announcement during his State of the Nation speech in Tynwald this afternoon.
Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services has been commissioned, to review the operation of both organisations here.
Howard Quayle also announced that the home affairs minister is to become the Minister of Home Affairs and Justice, with an expanded remit.
