Measure seen as a "last resort"
A bill - which would allow a financially distressed energy supplier to be placed into a form of special administration - has been given its second reading in The House of Keys.
The Council of Minister's and Tynwald's approval would be needed.
Environment Minister Clare Barber has stressed this measure exists as a last resort:
