A new £4.9 million engineering centre has been officially opened at Isle of Man College.
Based at the former Water Authority treatment works off Greenfield Road in Douglas, it will form part of the College campus, providing improved facilities for construction and engineering students and a wider range of training.
It's named the William Kennish Engineering Centre after a Manxman whose inventions included the predecessor of the gun turret and who discovered the first canal route without locks linking the Pacific and the Atlantic.
His great grandsons Clifford Kennish and Dana Kennish Smith travelled over from America to attend the opening:
