Steve McQueen inspired vehicle hadn't been taxed for 30 years
A visitor from England has been fined £650 after being caught riding a bike which hadn’t been taxed for 30 years.
Police stopped the man riding the vehicle - which was decorated in tribute to Steve McQueen’s Porsche 917 from the 1971 film Le Mans – yesterday (30 May).
He didn’t have a licence or insurance and was displaying a homemade cardboard registration plate displaying the wrong registration details.
The man was arrested and spent a night in custody before going before the court this morning – in addition to the fine he received five penalty points.
He’ll also have to pay for the return of his bike and storage costs.
