The Enterprise Minister says he's sorry to hear of the demise of one of the Island's most iconic food producers.
Tim Johnston says the closure of Moore's traditional Smokehouse in Peel, which has been smoking herring since 1882, is regrettable, but it reflects the nature of the sector, which has historically seen considerable 'churn'.
Ironically the closure coincides with a new dawn for the Island's herring fishery, with local vessels able to catch herring in Manx waters for the first time in years.
