LGBT group comments on legislation
The Island could be leading the way in terms of gender equality, according to a local LGBT activist.
The comprehensive Equalities Bill 2016 is being drafted at present, to protect the rights of all residents regardless of religion, race, gender and sexual orientation.
However, Sam Hudson from the Manx Rainbow Association believes the Bill does not sufficiently cover those with a non-binary gender identity - including transgender and transsexual people.
He says the legislation, in its current state, is flawed.
