Long-standing deal to be scrapped
Manx fishermen could benefit from the reclaiming of UK waters for British fishermen.
UK Environment Secretary Michael Gove announced the London Fisheries Convention will be rescinded - an arrangement that's been in place since 1964.
The agreement allowed foreign fisheries from close proximity countries access to the UK coastline - Mr Gove says the decision is a precursor to Brexit.
The Island's covenant with the EU won't change just yet, though - foreign vessels will continue to operate within six and 12 nautical miles of the Manx coast.
Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Geoffrey Boot says talks are ongoing to firm up a future for Manx fisheries policy:
