EV charging network 'needs to evolve to meet demand'

MUA chair discusses plans for new charging points

The chair of Manx Utilities (MUA) says the Island's network of public electric vehicle charging points needs to evolve to meet demand.

Earlier this week, the MUA announced plans for a number of new EV facilities on the Island.

Among them, a new 'ultra rapid charger' is going to be installed at the Sea Terminal in the coming months, bringing the total number of charging points there to four.

MUA Chair John Wannenburgh MHK says: "Our usage would tell us that there's over 850 regular users all the time, not to mention those who have their own chargers at home. To my mind, we have a duty towards supporting them."
