Announcement expected tomorrow
The impending closure of the Mount Murray Golf Club’s function rooms is already having an effect on Island events.
This afternoon, Manx Radio revealed the function rooms will shut their doors this Sunday.
A debate on party politics hosted by ILS World and the Island’s Junior Chamber of Commerce was planned for the venue on October 29.
But the event, which will see Kate Beecroft MHK debate the need for political parties with Chris Robertshaw MHK has now had to be switched to the Sefton Hotel.
It’s also thought organisers of one of the Island’s longest-running and largest Christmas charity markets will now also need to find an alternative home for it – and the Rotary Club of Douglas has been forced to relocate their regular weekly lunch next week.
The management of the venue are expected to make an official announcement tomorrow.
