No special consideration for wrong text
The UK body which governs codes of conduct for exam boards maintains it is 'the responsibility of the school' to teach pupils the correct syllabus.
Students at Castle Rushen High School are still awaiting the outcome of an appeal, after candidates for a GCSE English Literature exam were given the wrong book to read.
The exam was worth 25% of the overall subject grade.
But the Chartered Institute of Examination Assessors' policy specifically states being set the wrong text does not mean students should be given special consideration.
An investigation by the Department of Education continues.
Education Minister Graham Cregeen says Castle Rushen wasn't the only school to make the error.
