Hundreds slide for charity
There'll be a chance to splash, dash and help the Island's hospice at a new summer fund-raising event today (23 August).
Hundreds of places have been claimed to ride the urban water slide - 100 metres downhill from Port Jack on a lilo!
Hospice has bought its own water slide after the attraction proved popular in a number of UK cities.
Ten pound tickets were allocated by ballot for a limited number of places and riders have been given time slots.
Head of income generation at hospice Mary Doyle says the outdoor event should be a real spectacle:

Substantial damaged caused by fire station blaze
‘No risk to public’ after fire at Castletown Fire Station
Not one affordable house available to buy
Election candidate reprimanded by Information Commissioners
