Exit polls show Island could return 15 new MHKs

Five previous CoMIN members could lose seats

Data shows the Isle of Man could have 15 new MHKs as a result of today’s General Election.

Manx Radio has undertaken what is believed to be the largest ever exit poll for an Isle of Man election.

The information was collected from voters at the polling stations across the 12 constituencies.

It shows a number of members who've previously served in the Council of Ministers, over the five-year period, could fail to be re-elected and seven outgoing MHKs could also be out.

The race for five of the seats is too close to call.

Predictions show eight female MHKs could be elected - down slightly from 10 in the 2021 election.

Of the 15 candidates standing for political parties two are thought to have been successful in gaining a seat.

Eleven of the 12 constituencies could have at least one new MHK.

Just one of the constituencies is expected to return the same politicians as five years ago.

In four of the constituencies both members will be new.
