There’s no need to panic if you see clouds of steam and hear significant noise around Pulrose from this morning (Monday).
That’s because the MEA is carrying out a steam blow at the power station.
It’s the next stage of works following routine maintenance at the combined cycle gas turbine plant in recent weeks.
It will ensure all debris is blasted out of the pipes within the steam systems to prevent damage to the turbine blades.
Although silencers are being fitted, there’ll still be significant noise and clouds of steam in the area around the Bowl, Pulrose Bridge and Middle River.
The tests are due to take place until Friday anytime between 8am and 6pm – call 687687 if you have any queries or concerns.
