Reayrt-ny-Baie facing outbreak of virus
Restrictions at residential care homes on the Isle of Man will be extended due to the community spread of Covid-19.
Manx Care has confirmed Reayrt-ny-Baie will remain closed until 20 August due to an outbreak of the virus within the home.
Other homes affected – in Douglas, Port St Mary and Ramsey - will be shut for a further seven days.
However Health Minister David Ashford says there has been a slight change to visiting:
Meanwhile, overnight respite care for adults with learning disabilities has been scaled back so staff can be redeployed.
Manx Care says it's to meet 'ongoing operational challenges' including the need to close eight care homes due to Covid-19.
The healthcare body says maintaining staffing levels across all social care facilities is 'a challenge' due to the number of staff who are currently self-isolating.
