Legislation to allow police to use automatic number plate recognition will go before Tynwald by the end of 2024.
The Department of Home Affairs says it will also bring a bill to the House of Keys by the end of January next year to enable police to use facial recognition software.
The measures have been outlined in the new Securing Our Island Strategy.
