The head of the Manx National Farmers Union says it’s understandable why the export of Manx meat is at a high level
Local farmers have long expressed concern at some of the prices offered for meat locally.
In the same week DEFA Minister Geoffrey Boot outlined the difficulties of finding a sustainable way forward for the Island’s meat plant, Brian Brumby is denying farmers are 'blatantly profiteering' at the expense of animal welfare.
But it’s natural, he admits, to seek the best return possible.
