'Unconscious bias still a challenge women face' - Garff MHK
Three national politicians have revealed their experiences of gender equality in Tynwald and government.
It comes as the world celebrated International Women's Day this week.
Though politics is still a male dominated profession on the Island, Douglas South MHK, Claire Christian says that didn't influence her decision to stand for the House of Keys:
Daphne Caine has been an MHK for Garff since 2016 but has played witness to the ways of government since the 90s when she was a political reporter for IOM Newspapers.
She says although general attitudes towards female politicians has changed, for the better, public perception is still an extra hurdle women have to face:
Tanya August-Hanson MLC is not only the only woman who has worked in Manx parliament while pregnant, she's also the only person of colour.
