Scottish isles economies benefit from publicly-owned ferries
Government-owned ferry services offer more than just transport for passengers.
That's the view of the chief executive of Scottish-based firm Stream Marine Training Martin White, who regularly visits the Island to meet with clients in the Manx maritime sector.
Mr White was speaking after government proposals to buy the Steam Packet Company were revealed.
He says the publicly-owned services operating in Scottish waters make a vital contribution to the economies of the isles:
Planning application for onshore wind farm still being developed
Motorcyclist suffered fatal chest injuries in crash
Trial for trio accused of producing Class A drugs to Island
