Singers encouraged to join in with restart of group
Efforts are underway to ‘reinvigorate’ the Isle of Man Church Music Association.
The group, which was founded in 1897, is holding a ‘Festival of Hymns’ on Sunday (30 June) to celebrate.
At one stage the association’s leader was the founder of the Manx Music Festival – Miss M L Wood.
Now it’s under the leadership of Dr Peter Litman, the director of music at Peel Cathedral, Reverend Joanna Fisher – who is assistant curate at Kirk Braddan - and organist Gareth Moore.
Dr Litman told Manx Radio he’d like everyone who likes singing to get involved:
The ‘Festival of Hymns’ will take place at St Thomas’ Church in Douglas from 2pm on Sunday; you can find out more HERE.
