
There was a significant drop in the number of people charged with drink-driving over the festive period.
The figures have just been released by the police.
Twelve people were arrested, of which three have been charged so far, four have been bailed pending further inquiries and five were found to be under the limit.
This compares to 19 arrested and 16 charged over the corresponding period 12 months ago.
The number of cars stopped has not been revealed so far, as it has been in past years.
Last year, for example, 612 were stopped, 819 the year before.
