No major incidents or spike in arrests, either
As the festive season comes to a close, senior Island police officers say they're optimistic their anti drink-drive campaign has worked.
During the period, there were no major disorder incidents, nor any serious road accidents - and no spike in arrests overall.
Reports from the police overnight via Twitter speak of officers having to deal with drunk people and some noisy parties, but nothing more serious.
Early figures for drink-driving show only a handful of drivers were arrested and charged.
