Fewer than five serious crashes with reduced speed limit in place

Chief Minister says more than 30 normally happen over a two-month period

Fewer than five serious road traffic collisions happened on Manx roads while the reduced all-Island speed limit was in place.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle told the House of Keys around 30 serious crashes would be expected in a normal two-month period.

A 40mph and 60mph limit was brought in as part of the coronavirus measures in a bid to limit demand on the emergency services.

Mr Quayle said having fewer cars on the road meant action was needed:
