Career of 'voice of force' draws to a close
A long-serving police officer is set to depart the Isle of Man Constabulary for the final time today.
A double-hip replacement means Inspector Derek Flint's 27-year career as a public servant will officially come to an end at the close of play this evening when he retires.
He's been on the Island since 1998 - carrying out the media and liaison role for the past decade.
Inspector Flint says his departure - just before the start of TT - wasn't planned:
First in series of 'Isle be Ready' sessions to take place next month
More online services for drivers
New support centre 'an oasis' for cancer patients
Orrisdale Road to close for a month for resurfacing works
