A minute's silence has been held by members of Greater Manchester Police as they remembered policewomen Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes.
Fiona - who was educated on the Island - and her colleague were killed a year ago today in a gun and grenade attack by Dale Cregan.
This morning's service took place at Hyde police station and the minute's silence was held at 10.53, the time when the officers were killed.
The service was attended by family, friends and colleagues of the two PCs
The unarmed pair had been lured to their deaths by a bogus 999 call made by Cregan.
He was given a whole life sentence at Preston Crown Court in June this year.
