Investigations into cause ongoing
Fire crews were called out after reports of a large fire in the open on the Bernahara Road, in Andreas last night.
The alarm was raised Shortly after 11pm and crews from Ramsey, Kirk Michael and Douglas were mobilised.
On arrival, crews discovered a large fire involving waste materials. Due to the remote location a water relay was established to deliver water to the location and the water bowser from Douglas station mobilised also.
The fire was contained and extinguished by crews wearing breathing apparatus using two hose jets.
Crews remained at the scene for around 2 hours.
Investigations in to the cause are ongoing.
