Firefighters spend two hours tackling incident
Fire crews were called out early this morning to tackle a gorse and heath fire in the west of the Island.
Firefighters from Peel and Douglas attended the scene at Starvey Road shortly after 7.30am.
The 50m x 25m fire was brought under control, with officers spending around two hours at the scene to prevent the flames from spreading further.
The fire service is warning such vegetation is dry due to the recent spell of warm weather, and urging the public not to take any risks.
