Praise for householders' actions
Fire crews from Ramsey and Kirk Michael had to deal with a kitchen fire yesterday afternoon.
The incident happened around 4.30pm in Ramsey, and the blaze was confined to a grill pan and oven.
It was quickly extinguished by crew wearing breathing apparatus.
There were no injuries.
The Fire and Rescue Service says householders took the right course of action by not attempting to deal with fire themselves but evacuating and dialling 999.
