Hedge fire shuts road
Firefighters were called to tackle a fire in a hedge yesterday which was creating problems for motorists.
The incident happened at around 2pm when crews from Kirk Michael Fire Station were called to Bollyn Road which was closed because of billowing smoke.
The Fire and Rescue Service spent an hour tackling the fire and making the area safe.
Damage was limited to the hedge itself, and livestock in nearby fields was unaffected.
