Burning pan leads to smoke-logged flat
A householder was given oxygen following an incident in Douglas yesterday morning (Sun 14).
The alarm was raised around 1.13am when crews from the Douglas station responded to an automatic fire alarm activation and reported smell of smoke at Queens Apartments, Douglas.
A Breathing Apparatus team with a high pressure hose reel and thermal image camera made entry into a heavily smoke-logged flat and helped the occupier to a place of safety.
They received oxygen for the effects of smoke inhalation.
A pan of burnt foodstuff was discovered on an electric hob and removed from the property and the apartment was ventilated by fan.
