Those planning fires urged to take precautions
Fire crews are urging those planning bonfires to take precautions after being called out to deal with a blaze that got out of control.
Firefighters from Port Erin were able to bring the flames at Bradda Head under control yesterday thanks to an early call from a neighbour.
The fire service says the Manx countryside is tinder dry, meaning flames can spread quickly.
Anyone lighting a bonfire is asked to ensure they have water on standby and ensure the area has been cleared from other vegetation.
