Staff praised for quick response
Firefighters were called out this morning after a fire broke out in a cafe in Peel.
Crews from Peel and Douglas went to the venue on Michael Street earlier today.
Emergency services have given credit to staff there who, after noticing the flames, immediately isolated the gas and electrical supply and put a fire blanket over the fryers before making sure everyone evacuated the building.
Authorities confirmed the fire was out on arrival but checked for any hotspots or damage before ventilating the area.
