Advice offered as we move into winter
Fire crews from Douglas and Laxey responded to multiple calls about flooding this morning.
Several properties needed help with pumping out water to make sure occupants were safe after heavy rainfall, with the Department of Infrastructure also assisting in what were difficult working conditions.
The Fire Service is urging people to be aware of the changing weather as we move into winter.
Drains and gutters should be cleared and those with coal or solid fuel fires are advised that their chimneys should have been swept in the past six months.
