80 firefighters battling flames
The moorland fires around Greater Manchester have spread to Winter Hill.
The upland area was the site of the Island’s worst ever air disaster when a Silver City Airways aircraft crashed in 1958 killing 35 people on board.
Many were from the Island's motortrade and a memorial was placed there in 2008.
A 60th commemoration of the tragedy took place in St Johns earlier this year.
Sean Hevey is leading a crew from Cumbria who've been working on Winter Hill since first light - he says it's tough going.
