Today marks 25 years since the tragedy
A local firefighter is taking on a 100km challenge in honour of the victims of 9/11 today (11 September).
Adam Boyd from Douglas Fire Station is aiming to run between all seven of the Island's engine houses.
Adam says: "This run is about so much more than the distance.
"It is my way of remembering and honouring the thousands of innocent people who lost their lives that day, and paying tribute to the firefighters, police officers, emergency responders and ordinary people who showed incredible courage and selflessness in the face of unimaginable circumstances."
The 34-year-old is also hoping to raise £2,977, which represents the number of lives lost on 11 September 2001, for The Fire Fighters Charity and Heroes on the Water Isle of Man.
