Crews extinguish flames & contain fuel leak
Firefighters have recently responded to two separate tractor fires.
Castletown and Rushen crews were called out to one in a field near Ronague Road where the vehicle was alight upon arrival.
Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used high pressure hose reels and a jet to extinguish the tractor fire and prevent radiated heat setting fire to nearby vegetation.
They remained in attendance for 90 minutes.
In Douglas this morning (24), a tractor set on fire at a layby near Greeba bends.
Emergency crews were at the scene for 45 minutes where they extinguished the flames and contained a fuel leak from the tractor.
