All living in the building safely evacuated
Firefighters were called to a fire in Douglas yesterday (2 April) following reports of smoke coming from a block of flats.
It happened on Demesne Road at 1.30pm.
All of the people living in the building had safely evacuated – the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service says this shows the importance of having working smoking alarms.
Minimal smoke logging was confined to the immediate area which was vented by crews using a fan.
