Sitting MHK Joney Faragher announces intention stand in September's election
The first candidate has announced their intention to stand for Douglas East in the upcoming General Election.
Joney Faragher is the leader of the Manx Labour Party and is currently one of the constituency's sitting MHKs.
She says the Island continues to face challenges around housing, healthcare and the cost of living, which she hopes to be able to address if re-elected.
Joney says: "Serving our community has been one of the greatest honours of my life.
"While I’m proud of work I’ve done alongside and on behalf of some amazing people, I know there’s much more to do."
The election is taking place on Thursday 24 September.
