Event evolving with changes for 2016
One of the best known - and oldest- events on the Manx cultural calendar got underway today (Fri 22)
It's the first day of competition in the Manx Competitive Music, Speech and Dance Festival 2016 – better known as the Guild.
Over the next week more than 4,000 competitors will take part in around 200 classes.
There are several major changes this year, including a battle of the bands and moving the Cleveland Medal final to the Friday evening.
Manx Radio's Guild reporter Judith Ley says that's not quite as radical as some people may think.
Judith will be providing comprehensive coverage throughout the week. For more information on the Festival you can log on at manxmusicfestival.org
